Talented riders have booked their spot at a prestigious national competition after a top display at the weekend.
A team from the North Northumberland Hunt Pony Club (NNHPC) sealed a place at The Pony Club Novice National Championships 2012 by winning the North Area Pony Club Novice showjumping competition.
The team members were Lucy Baker Cresswell, 13, from Belford, Annabel Blythe, 14, from Thrunton Woods, Amelia Dickinson, 15, of Eglingham, and Felicity Warcup, 15, from near Duddo.
All the girls rode extremely well and, out of 26 teams, they were the only one to go double clear during the event, which was held in Cumbria.
It is the second year running that a NNHPC team has won at the event.
It is also the second year that team trainer Karen Bell has successfully trained a NNHPC Novice team and helped them reach the National Championships.
It is a great achievement for both Karen and the club.
The team can now look forward to the renowned Championships, which take place in Cheshire at the end of August.
Jill Blythe, team organiser, said: “Reaching the Championships is the icing on the cake and a great achievement, especially for a small club like ours. A lot of it is down to the excellent training by Karen Bell.
“We hope the girls enjoy the Championships, as it is quite an honour.”
