Harriers shine in number of parkruns

A good number of Alnwick Harriers took part in parkruns on Saturday.

Eight club members were in action at Druridge Bay, with the highlight being a course age category record being set by Lauren Brown in the female 10 age group.

There were age category wins for Tracey Sample and Mark Hume too, while Brown’s older brother Harry also ran well on his parkrun debut.

Elsewhere, Andrew Shell ran the fastest 5k by an Alnwick Harrier this weekend at Newcastle.

Tim Falconer was first in the male 50 age group at Folkestone, Kirsty Steed was also in action at Margate in Kent, Graham Crow took part in another Hampshire parkrun at Netley Abbey, Angie Embleton was third female finisher at Carlisle and Gay Eastoe was first in the female 60 age group at Workington, also in Cumbria.
