Alnwick Premier Darts League
The fifth annual Ian Whillis Memorial Competition was held on Saturday.
A field of 71 players and as many supporters showed how Ian’s memorial competition has become a major fixture on the North East darts calender.
The competition attracted county, PDC and BDO players, however, the local players held their own against some magnificent darts.
Graham Shell and Dennis Williams made it through to the money stages, reaching the last 16.
The finalists were Northumberland county player Andy Lynn and young Adam Hunt who has recently secured his PDC tour card.
In a final, as good as any televised event, Andy Lynn won 5-3.
Competition organiser Kevin Fletcher said: “A massive thanks to everyone who attended on Saturday, both players and supporters.
“I would also like to thank all the board sponsors and also Shilbottle Club for both hosting and being the main sponsor of the event.
“I couldn’t run a competition of this size without the help of Ian Tate and Chris Goodwin and a special thanks to Sue and Keira Whillis for their continued support.”
