Berwick’s table-topping hockey side travel to Falkirk & Linlithgow in Women’s East League Three action this weekend after a two-week lay-off.

The borderers have a 100% record with three wins from their opening three games and are in joint first-spot with Inverleith.

Edinburgh Uni were 1-0 winners over Boroughmuir in the only fixture to get the go-ahead in their Division last weekend.

“We have had two weeks off but we’ve been implementing some dynamic game play skills during our training sessions,” said the club’s Corrin Williamson.

“Unfortunately, we’ve never played at Falkirk yet as the last two seasons they have cancelled the game so this is new turf for us. So far this season we’ve had too many players impress. Everyone is growing and developing as players and it’s really starting to show and pay off,” she continued.

The team has also been boosted with a player jetting back with a tan to take her place in the squad.

“Becca Murray is back after some time off travelling which is exciting news for the team. She plays up front and is a very strong and skilful player. Historically we played on the English side but years ago we made the switch to the Scottish side which we do enjoy,” said Williamson.
