Junior league tees off

North Northumberland Junior Golf League

The Junior Golf League got under way, with six teams taking part this year.

It will be played on a home-and-away basis and it is expected to be very close as all the teams have a good level of experienced juniors and there is no one team standing out from the pack.

Last year’s champions Linden Hall will be pushed all the way to repeat their success this time round.

This was shown this week with their first match away to Rothbury who shared the points and showed that they too have their sights set high.

Alnwick are also contenders and showed their strength in depth by beating Alnmouth (Fox) away and Percy Wood overcame Goswick at home who have for many years had very good juniors to rely on.

So the season will be very interesting to follow as the weeks roll by.
