IAN Tate continued his great run of form with a clinical display at the oche in the Alnwick Premier Darts League.
Having won the second Peter Braidford Memorial Cup at the end of last month, Tate grabbed a superb 131 finish for Alnwick Gate A against pub rivals Bell Bar B in Division A on Friday night.
The table-topping Gate took the honours with a narrow 4-3 win.
The George beat the Farriers by the same scoreline, with the winning side’s skipper, Darren Melbourne, hitting a 116 finish during the match.
Things were more one-sided in the other two Division A matches.
Blue Bell A beat Oddies B 7-0, although credit to the Oddies who never gave up battling but just could not find a way to hit the winning doubles, while Fleece beat John Bull 6-1.
Some consolation for the Bull was a 180 by Ross Davidson and a good singles win by Chris Copper who secured the Bull’s only point on the night.
In Division B, Alnwick Gate C took the honours in the top-of-the-table clash against Alnwick Working Mens Club (AWMC) B.
The contest was settled by the tightest of margins with the Gate triumphing 4-3.
Alnwick Castle Golf Club A beat Oddies A by the same scoreline.
There were 5-2 victories for both Shilbottle Club and AWMC A – who beat The Market Tavern and The Hotpsur respectively.
