Harriers swoop on Bamburgh 10k

Alnwick Harriers

Eight Harriers took part in the Run Northumberland Bamburgh 10k on Sunday.

There were some great results from those taking part, including an excellent sixth-place finish for Danny Richardson, age-category wins for Dave Lowe (male 45) and Gay Eastoe (female 55 – second such prize in a week) and a pb for Shelley Coates.

Results: 6-Danny Richardson, 37.43; 10-Dave Lowe, 38.52; 57-Kim Bronze, 48.20; 80-Phil Lee, 52.29; 97-Gay Eastoe, 54.17; 98-Richard Eastoe, 54.17; 112-Shelley Coates, 55.57; 160-Mark Hume, 1.06.24.

The day before, four Harriers ran in the Newcastle Parkrun, with the headline being grabbed by Diana Weightman who knocked over 80 seconds off her 5k pb, winning the female 45 category.

Results: 10-Daniel Leng 18.14; 86-Diana Weightman 22.02; 108-Phil Baston 22.40; 123-Charlotte Baston 23.08.

Wooler Running Club

Wooler Running Club had a good turnout at the Blaydon Road Race on Sunday, June 9.

Ten members travelled down and put in some impressive times over the 5.7mile course. First club man home was Simon Curry in 41:03, and first club lady was Pam Brown in 41:40.
