A young gymnastic gem has won a gold medal at a top competition which attracts high-quality competitors.

Finn Gavin, 12, was part of the men’s four team, in the 11-16 age category, to take the accolade at the British Acrobatic Gymnastic Championships towards the end of March.

Other members of the group were Michael Gill, from Ponteland and Nathan Brady, from Durham, both 15, as well as Stuart Napier, 14.

The success meant that the quartet retained the British title they won last year. It also came on the back of them taking silver in the 2013 European Championships.

The talented foursome were representing Deerness Gymnastics Academy in Durham.

The British Championships were held in Stoke-on-Trent.
