Sunday’s Rover Trophy eventually got under way after nearly an hours delay due to the sea fret that has blighted some peoples bank holiday weekend but once the sun shone two players burned up the course.

Jack Friar took the victory on countback courtesy of a better back nine shooting a magnificent 68 gross to score 41 points. Runner up was postie Russell Cooke who delivered his best round of the season also scoring 41 points. In third place also shooting a 68 gross was Martin Carss scoring 38 points with Gerry McInally 38 and Harry Milham 37 the day’s other better than par scorers.
