After the downpours that drenched golfers on Saturday, Sundays Golden Jubilee Trophy saw welcome sunshine and a rise in temperature.

Hottest on the course and taking the victory was young Sam Thompson who shot a very impressive 43 points, runner up was local postie Russell Cooke with his 38 points and third place went to Head Greenkeeper Jack Friar on 37 points. A further four players shot the courses par 36 points, namely Connor Thompson, Steve Cooper, Richie Campbell and Carl Green.

A huge 10 twos saw a meagre payout for Alan Craigs, Barry Farrar, Mick Friar, Brian Hunt, John Lee, Alistair Smith, Sam Thompson, Alan Black, Russ Cooke and an eagle at the first hole for Guy Ridley.

The Sam Gattens memorial on Saturday, June 26 is now available for entry on the club’s website or intelligent golf app. It’s a 4-man team Texas Scramble, £80 per team with fantastic prizes, great food and plenty of refreshments.
