The Festival of Britain competition was played on Sunday over the Alnwick course, and for a change calm conditions greeted the golfers
Club stalwart Peter Lewis prevailed and took the victory with a fine 39 points. Runner up was Alan Mcneil whose 37 points snatched second place from Michael Bell also 37 on countback. Three players shot the par 36 points – Cyril Jobson, Steve Barron and young Andrew Short.
A fantastic four twos on the day saw Iain Bell, Colin Donaldson, Cyril Jobson and Lewis Joss all share the pot.
