Three local fighters from mixed martial arts/kickboxing club Long Zhanshi attained success yet again at the Sanshou National Championships in Milton Keynes recently.

James Grieve won the silver medal in the U70kg weight class, Adam White won gold in the U85kg class, and Martin White won the bronze medal in the O90kg.

James, has been training with Shaun for over nine years and won gold in the U65kg last year. Prior to that he won the North East championships four times in a row as a junior and won gold three times as a junior in the British Championships and once as an adult.

Organisers at the British Council for Chinese Martial arts have offered Adam and James a place on the GB Team for training in London, to compete in the European Championships.

Brothers Adam and Martin White only started training in the sport three years ago but their aptitude and hard work was quickly recognised and they were encouraged to compete.

Coach Shaun Gaines has been teaching boxing and Chinese kickboxing in the local area for over a decade and runs an extremely friendly and welcoming club for all whilst still providing a suitable environment for competitive fighters to train in.
