A Warkworth cricketer smashed a double century on Saturday, claiming the record for the highest individual score at the Castle Field.
First-team opener Scott Gibson scored 209 against Whitley Bay in the Northumberland Cricket League, Division One.
His record-breaking total came from 134 balls and included 26 fours and nine sixes.
Gibson also shared a 200-run partnership with Keith Douglas (90 not out) as the hosts went on to score a mammoth 414-3.
Not to be outdone by the batsmen, bowler Martin Clark then took seven wickets for 38 runs from 10.4 overs as the Bay side were bowled out for just 90.
This thumping victory secured Warkworth in the league’s top spot.
