Wet weather plays havoc with fixtures

Sportsworld North Northumberland Football League round-up

Division One

The previous week’s wet weather played havoc with the league fixtures with only three games managing to go ahead.

Red Row held their own at home to Bamburgh Castle and trailed by a single goal at half-time, but after the interval, Bamburgh netted five times to secure a comfortable win.

Mac Anderson and Kevin ell scored for the home club, while Darren Egdell, four, Johnny Johnson, two, and Bartlomiej Strychalski were the Bamburgh marksmen.

Lowick United moved level on points with Alnmouth United at the top of the table after a seven-goal win against local rivals Highfields United.

Andrew Metcalfe, three, Liam Hindmarsh, two, and single strikes by Marco Lambert and Mathew Tait made up the Lowick total.

Division Two

In the only game in the division, Amble St Cuthbert and Craster Rovers shared four goals and the points at the final whistle. Reece Ramsay, two for Amble, and Richard Stanwix, two, were the goalscorers.
