Alnwick Town suffered a 3-0 away defeat when they travelled to take on sixth-placed Cullercoats.

The defeat leaves Alnwick 14th in the table, on goal difference above Shankhouse, with 14 points from their 16 games.

On Saturday (March 14) they face Shankhouse at home in what is now shaping up to be a big game.

In Division 1, Rothbury (12th) went down 2-1 away to eighth-places Whitley Bay Sporting Club - see report below.

Red Row had a big 7-1 home win over FC United of Newcastle and they now sit third in the table, nine points behind leaders Hebburn U23s, with four games in hand.

On Saturday they are away to Forest Hall.

In the Development Division, North Sunderland has a 4-1 home win over Gosforth Bohemiens Reserves, a result which keeps the Seahouses side fourth in the table on 38 points from their 19 games.

Tom Vickers scored twice with their other goals coming from Ross Stanton and Stephen Ritter.

On Saturday North Sunderland are home to second in the table West Jesmond.

Wooler suffered a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Morpeth Town Reserves.

The Glendale side started poorly and were 2-0 down inside the first 20 minutes. To. Allan pulled a goal back in the second half when he netted his 15th of the season, reacting quickest when a free kick was palmed into his path by the visiting goalkeeper.

Wooler remain 11th in the table on 21 points and this weekend they are away to Wideopen.

Lowick lost 2-0 at home to Red House Farm, a team who have gone unbeaten in the last four games to climb off the bottom of the table.

Lowick, still searching for their first win since August, and who themselves have now dropped to second from bottom of the table, have a quick chance to halt the trend and avenge the defeat when the teams meet in the return this weekend.

Meanwhile, in the NE Combination League, Alnwick Development Squad went down 4-3 at Blyth to Bebside & Cowpen. Tyler Henderson, aged 17, made his debut for the side and capped his first appearance with a goal.
