Amble Utd...1

Hebburn Reyrolle...2

AMBLE welcomed the team leading Division One with a 100 per cent record in the second round of the Combination Cup.

Hebburn started the brightest playing some good football, but found the Amble back four very hard to break down.

Amble eventually kicked into gear and created some great chances and could have scored on several occasions but Hebburn took the initiative right on the stroke of half-time. After smart play down the right, the ball was crossed by Craig Watson for Channon North to slot home.

Even though Amble thought he was in an off-side position, the linesman did not put his flag up and the score at half-time was 1-0 to the visitors.

After the interval, Hebburn scored again in the 57th minute when the ball was crossed in from the right by Craig Watson.

The ball fell to Raymond Oshin to fire home.

However, Amble never gave up and were still playing some very good football, but could not put their chances away.

In the 82nd minute, Amble did get a goal back when a corner-kick from the right fell to Michael Dance, who fired home.

After this, Brent Robertson made a good run up the left and shot, but the visitors’ keeper saved very well and kept the score 2-1 to Hebburn Reyrolle.

Amble were very disappointed after a game in which they were probably the better team over the 90 minutes.
