Tustain Motors Glendale League round-up
Considering the incredible events at the conclusion of League One and the Championship over the past week, one could say that the Under 12 and Under 14 divisions of the Glendale League lacked a certain excitement.
Tweedmouth Amateurs were almost professional in their approach to last Tuesday’s title decider against top-of-the-table rivals Rothbury. Requiring only a defeat of less than five goals, Tweedmouth showed impressive discipline to secure a 0-0 draw.
On Saturday, Rothbury Under 12s completed their season’s fixtures against Seahouses. A goal from Alex Law saw their league season end with a 1-1 draw against Seahouses.
This point was enough to secure runners-up position over a Lowick Leopards side who beat Eyemouth 2-0. Christian Briggs scored both goals in a solid victory over Eyemouth. The Leopards finished the season strongly to move to third place over Longhorsley. Wooler Under 12s finished their league campaign by edging a seven-goal thriller over Lowick Pumas. Christopher Fagen and Jordan Hedgecock each scored a brace of goals for Wooler as they won 4-3.
Rothbury Under 14s secured the league title with victory over Alnmouth, which also took Rothbury to joint-top of the Under 14 Premiership Cup table and victory over Lowick Rangers will put them into the final with an opportunity to claim the double.
In the Under 10 division, Rothbury Rangers took themselves to the brink of a Championship Cup Final appearance on Saturday with an excellent 5-1 victory over Felton. Ethan Arkle scored four of the Rangers goals with Adam Barnes scoring the fifth. Felton are to be highly commended for taking the fight to the resurgent Rangers team despite playing with only six players. Jordan Robinson was the pick of the Felton players.
Elsewhere in the Under 10s Shilbottle beat Lowick Tigers 5-0 and Berwick Juniors continued their perfect season with a 3-1 win over Seahouses.
