Trap landslide

North End Trap Broomhill...15 Alnmouth Argyle...1

Morpeth Sunday League, Division Two

THE Trap boys still haven’t got out of second gear but they maintained their good start to the season by beating Alnmouth Argyle 15-1.

Top marksman Darren Smith scored four, Rob Morton grabbed three, while Danny Moyle and Jaden Gray both bagged a brace.

There was also a goal each for Mark Oman, Josh Baston, Paul Smith and Dave Goward.

The result flattered the Trap, but the finishing of the home team was top-notch.

Alnmouth, to their credit, kept having a go and young Steven Cairy was a constant threat, but Ian Turnbull was his match with a mighty display at right-back.

The boys need to improve if they want to get anything from Sunday’s away clash with Morpeth Riverside Lodge, but as the so-called experts say, if you’re winning and playing badly, you’re a good side. Hope so!
