Alnwick Town lost back-to-back home games as they went down 3-0 to Chester-le-Street this evening.
The hosts went a goal down after around 20 minutes when a free-kick beat Town keeper Sean Straker.
The scoreline remained the same until deep into the second period when the County Durham side notched a second before scoring a third from the penalty spot to guarantee the three points.
It comes on the back of Town’s fourth win in seven games as Alnwick Town battled back from a goal down to beat struggling Tow Law Town on Saturday, just days after the St James’ Park club was rocked by the death of legendary goalkeeper Clive Burn.
Derek Atwell’s men, who have managed a strong finish to the 2014/15 campaign, end their season at home to basement side Brandon United, who have already been relegated, on Saturday, April 25, kick-off 3pm.
