Alnwick Town were left counting the opposition goals again this afternoon, after a 4-1 defeat at Stokesley Sports Club.

The black ’n’ whites travelled to the North Yorkshire town, hoping to bounce back from last Saturday’s 6-0 home defeat to Ryton and Crawcrook Albion, their first defeat in five matches in all competitions.

Alnwick started well, going a goal up soon after kick-off.

But half an hour later, the home side got one back with a 25-yard shot.

At half-time, the scoreline read 2-1, after an own-goal by the Alnwick keeper.

Two more goals from Stokesley put the final score at 4-1.
