Town give Cram the blues

Alnwick Town...6 Cramlington Blues...1

ALNWICK got back to winning ways with an emphatic win over Cramlington Blues.

The lads didn’t have it all their own way though and were one down after 10 minutes when Cramlington capitalised on a corner that wasn’t cleared (0-1).

With Harry and Will working hard in the midfield engine room, they didn’t have long to wait for the equaliser.

A great move down the right saw Harvey square to Alfie who flicked it on for Billy to score from close range (1-1).

On the stroke of half-time, Billy’s snapshot deceived the keeper to make it 2-1.

Cam replaced Will at half-time.

It was 3-1 soon after the break as Craig rifled a shot into the roof of the net after a goalmouth scramble.

Ben came on and with his and Aflie’s pace and the strength of Harvey they were causing problems, but Kieron had to pull off a great save to remind everyone the game wasn’t won yet.

He must have seen the ball very late but still managed to get a leg out and stop the net bound shot.

The defence of Liam, Max and Brandon took the hint and started mopping up everything that came their way which allowed Ant to link up well with Tombo on the left, and soon they created a chance that Ben managed to convert. (4-1).

Reece came on for Max and within 10 minutes had bagged a goal.

His curling corner was net-bound until it went in off a Cramlington defender. Then the keeper could not keep hold of his long-range free-kick and Harvey was on hand to tap in the rebound and get the goal his hard work deserved (6-1).

A great performance from the whole squad after two bad results will surely give the lads confidence.
