IN a scrappy game a 30th minute goal from Scott Sherrington gave Bedlington a half-time lead.

After the start of the second half, Chris Dobey doubled the lead. Both teams struggled to play any good football, but a 60th minute strike from Mick Grieves ensured the win to keep Bedlington’s unbeaten start to the season going. Longhoughton did mange a goal in the final stages of the match.

Hedgeley Rovers...2

IN a game between two sides at the wrong end of the division, it was Hedgeley who started brightly and took the lead thanks to a 20th minute penalty scored by Lee Head.

Just before half-time, Ben Storey scored to double Hedgeley’s advantage.

Longhoughton hit back just after half-time when Gareth Leng-Jackson got on the scoresheet and they snatched a point with an 85th minute equaliser from Peter Murray (match report below).

Belford...2 Bamburgh Castle...0

A LONG-range effort after 25 minutes from Paul Murray separated the teams at half-time in a good, hard game.

Belford created numerous chances after half-time but they had to wait until 85 minutes when the Bamburgh keeper saved a Kevin Greshon effort and Andy Thompson followed up to net the rebound.

Embleton WR...3 Craster Rovers...0

BOTH teams struggled on a heavy pitch but after a pretty even start Ross McKenley gave Embleton the lead midway through the first half.

They missed further chances to extended the lead as Stephen Shendon hit the post and they had a goal disallowed, but in the final five minutes a Ross McKenley cross was headed home by Chris Chisholm and sub Mark Forrest sealed the win with the last kick of the game.

Tweedmouth Rangers...0

WOOLER showed why they lead the table as they ran in seven goals during the first half.

The home team improved after half-time but were unable to match their more experienced opponents, who ran in three more goals before the final whistle.

Robert Shepherd netted a hat-trick, Luke Strangeways bagged two, with single goals coming from Craig Henderson, Stuart Bertram, James Scott, James Jeffries and Jack Strangeways.
