BOSMAN signings Cabral, Valentin Roberge and Modibo Diakite officially become Sunderland players today, as the transfer window re-opens.

Sunderland effectively sealed deals for Basle midfielder Cabral, Maritimo centre-half Roberge and Lazio defender Diakite earlier this summer after agreeing pre-contract agreements with the three free agents.

The Black Cats confirmed last month that provisional deals were in place for the trio.

But the three Continental recruits, expected to meet their new team-mates at the start of pre-season training on Wednesday, have had to wait until today to formally take their place on Sunderland’s books.

Sunderland are also expected to confirm young midfielder El-Hadji Ba’s move to the Stadium of Light on a three-year deal.

Ba personally claimed earlier this month that he was joining Sunderland after rejecting a new deal at French Second Division club Le Havre after the Black Cats spent last season tracking the 20-year-old.

But as yet, there has been no confirmation from either Sunderland or Le Havre – the club who also expect to lose left-back Benjamin Mendy to the Black Cats – over Ba’s switch to the Stadium of Light.

That is likely to have been because of Ba’s age though and the compensation which will be due to Le Havre.
