Morpeth Sunday League, Division One round-up
Stobswood remain top after defeating Alnmouth Argyle 7-0.
John James Eke got a hat-trick, Matthew Reid grabbed a brace and the scoring was completed with single strikes from Jake Baker and Stefan Tweddle.
The Wharton Arms were trailing 1-0 to Amble Blue Bell through a John Charlton goal, but scored twice in the last five minutes with a goal each from Phil Gowens and Simon Cunningham to grab the three points.
HMP Northumberland picked up a good 5-1 win against Morpeth Wansbeck, with the goalscorers as follows: Glen Walker, (three), Steven Langton and, on his final appearance for the team, goalkeeper Danny Staples also managed to get himself among the scorers. The Morpeth Wansbeck reply was scored by Michael Bray.
Amble Tavern edged out Bedlington Barrington 2-1 with a goal five minutes from the end. The Tavern had taken the lead through Jamie Dixon before Barrington striker Chris Coe levelled the contest, however, Amble snatched a winner with a good strike from the edge of the box by Calvin Flanagan.
Finally this week, Morpeth Shambles defeated Bedlington FC 4-1.
