Stobswood miss out in basement battle

Division One

IN the only first division game played, Bomarsund took three welcome points at Stobswood Welfare.

Billy Wade and Rob Baker got the Stobswood counters, but a brace from Ross Muter, plus a Chris Gray goal, secured the points for Bomar.

The game between Red Row Brick Club and leaders Pegswood Ex was postponed.

Division Two

AMBLE Dock Hotel banked three points with the only goal of the game against Blackthorn Rovers in the second division. Mick Straker was the Dock marksman.

Goals were also scarce at East Chevington, who hosted Morpeth Chantry.

A single goal from Zac Blakey was enough to claim three needy points for Chevington.

North End Trap returned to winning ways, with a good 3-2 win over Riverside Lodge, who have been going well of late.

Stephen Speirs and Darren Percy got the Lodge goals, but a goal apiece from the Oman brothers and a last-gasp strike from David Goward sealed the win. River Coquet suffered a home reverse, going down 0-2 to in-form Village Inn.

NFA Sunday Minor Cup

ASHINGTON RAOB pulled off a good win in the NFA Sunday Minor Cup overcoming Benwell St Joseph’s 2-0.
