Six players (and a manager) see red!

ALNMOUTH UNITED 4 WALLSEND LABOUR CLUB 1

This was a game which will probably be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

For come the final whistle, Alnmouth had been reduced to nine men, whilst Wallsend were down to only seven, their manager having also been dismissed in an ill-tempered match.

As last week, a three goal half-time lead was enough to see Alnmouth through to victory.

A brace apiece for Ryan Taylor and Kevin Bell set up a 4-1 score-line over previously unbeaten Wallsend Labour Club in an incident packed clash.

Taylor drew first blood before Bell doubled the advantage after running onto a through ball from Sean Andrews.

Taylor registered his second and United’s third on 35 minutes, but after the interval, Wallsend were allowed back into the contest when Karl Redshaw powered his way through the middle to smash past Mick Ashurst.

Bell restored Alnmouth’s three goal advantage with his second of the game.

Wallsend were still up for the fight and it was their indiscipline which ultimately led to their downfall after being shown four red cards, plus another for the manager.

Alnmouth had two sent off, on each occasion for retaliation.
