RANGERS bagged all three points in a tense game against the Throckley Magpies, who were resplendent in their new black and white stripes.

Throckley were a goal ahead in the first minute when their forward was quickest to react after a ball went over the top of the Rangers back four slamming an unstoppable shot past the home keeper (0-1).

Rangers, slightly rattled, almost conceded again in almost the exact same circumstances.

The home side then settled into their stride and started to boss the game more with Pusey dominating in the midfield.

Ranger’s equaliser was a contender for goal of the season as Coxford struck a sweet shot from outside the area, which left the keeper with no chance as it rose over his head (1-1).

Rangers then took the lead with a route-one attack after a huge kick from keeper Slack bounced once over the visiting centre-half for Coxford to finish well (2-1).

The second half was a fairly even affair, with both teams forcing several corners and pushing hard without really threatening either keeper.

However, with 10 minutes to go, Rangers again paid the price for not reacting quicker after a ball was floated into the box and the incoming striker ghosted past and finished with ease (2-2).

It looked to all as if the points would be shared until the final minute when Coxford was put through clear on goal after out-muscling his defender and made no mistake with another excellent finish to complete his hat-trick.
