Only three matches survive

ONLY two matches involving NNFL clubs survived the downpour at the weekend, with all Division One games falling foul of the weather.

The Round One clash between Shilbottle Reserves and Bedlington Town Reserves in the Bilclough Cup was also a victim.

All matches postponed.

Bamburgh Castle...3

Hedgeley Rovers...3

HEDGELEY turned in a good performance to snatch a point at Bamburgh, who were left to rue missed chances at the final whistle.

The home side were two goals up after 20 minutes thanks to goals from Johnny Johnson and Darren Edgell, with Richard Johnson pulling a goal back for Hedgeley after 42 minutes.

On the hour-mark, Andrew Lazenby equalised for Hedgeley before sub Johnny Love restored the Bamburgh lead with 75 minutes on the clock.

Hedgeley grabbed a point when Richard Frater netted in the 92nd minute.

Longhoughton Rangers Res...2 Belford...4

AFTER a close first half, Gary Fairbairn and Kevin Greshon had given Belford a half-time lead.

Although Aaron Beattie and Dominic Chapman pulled two goals back, Belford made sure of the points with further goals from Neil Jefferson and Chris Hay (full report below).

Berwick Utd Res...4

Craster Rovers...2

WITH both teams trying to play good football on a heavy pitch, it was Mark Murray and Robert Curle who gave the home side a two-goal lead inside the first 20 minutes.

Craster pulled a goal back just before half-time with a strike from Davy Hogg.

Play was fairly even after the break, but goals after 65 and 70 minutes from Murray and Philip Lee extended the lead, with Liam Crowe netting a second for Craster.
