Chants of “we want you to stay” were sang by the 10,000 supporters inside St James’s Park after the on-loan Arsenal man netted his sixth goal in a row against Sheffield United.
The 21-year-old told NUFCTV: "I want to say thank you for welcoming me with open arms.
"I hope you are satisfied with what I’ve given to the club so far and hopefully there is more to continue in the future.
"I’m not going to promise anything but the conversation is going to be held.”
Magpies ‘keen’ on ex-West Ham coach
Tottenham are “intensively considering” departing Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic, with Newcastle United and Crystal Palace also taking interest.
That’s according to Bild as the 38-year-old prepares to leave Dortmund after a hugely successful spell in interim charge.
Terzic, who assisted Slaven Bilic at West Ham, lifted the German Cup this month, though it was already agreed he would make way for the incoming Marco Rose.
However, his success hasn’t gone unnoticed. Spurs could move to appoint him as Jose Mourinho’s successor, while the Magpies and Palace are both reportedly admirers.
Toon target ‘available’ for £6m
Benfica are willing to offload reported Newcastle United target Nuno Tavares in a cut-price deal, as claimed by Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 21-year-old has been regularly linked with a move to St James’s Park over the past 12 months, however fresh reports have emerged.
The Italian publication, whilst detailing Napoli’s interest in the left-back, claims Tavares is set to be available for just £6million.
