The league has undergone a revamp during the summer, and this season there will be four divisions, Premier, One, Two and Development.

Alnwick Town will play in the Premier Division, and they kick off against Whitley Bay Reserves at home, followed by an away fixture against Percy Main Amateurs next Wednesday (14th).

Rothbury, who were promoted from Division Two in their first term last season, will now play in Division One, and they kick off away to Seaton Burn on Saturday, followed by another away fixture at Prudhoe Youth Club Seniors on Wednesday.

Newbiggin, who were winners of the North Northumberland League last season, have been elevated straight into Division Two, and they start against Newcastle East End on Saturday at home, with an away match against Wideopen on Wednesday.

The biggest change comes with the formation of the new Development Division, which includes 16 new teams.

Amongst their number are North Sunderland, who will face West Jesmond at home on Saturday before taking on another former NNL side in the shape of Wooler at home on Wednesday.

Wooler start with an away game against Morpeth Town Reserves on Saturday.

Also stepping up from the NNL are Lowick, who face Wideopen A away on Saturday and Morpeth Town Reserves, away on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Alnwick Town Ladies have revealed they are looking into setting up a second team.

The first team play in the NERWFL Northern and they are due to kick off their competitive season away to Consett on September 8. Their first home game at St James’ Park is scheduled for September 15 when Lumley are the visitors. The hope is to field a second team in a County League, playing on the new 3G facility. Both teams will train together and at the weekend an open training session was held for any potential newcomers to get involved.
