Subsidiary Cup, Group Two

Only two matches took place last weekend, with the Division One match between HMP Northumberland Athletic and Stobswood being postponed.

A Wyn Fremlin goal and an own-goal saw Morpeth Shambles win a hard-fought contest against Amble Blue Bell, in Group Two of the Subsidiary Cup. Blue Bell scored one goal but were unable to get an equaliser.

This win sees Shambles progress to the final, but they will have to wait to see who their opponents will be with games still to be played in Group One.

Subsidiary Cup, Group One

Ashington RAOB made a good start with an 8-0 win against Bedlington FC who tried hard until the end, but came up against a strong Buffs team. Scorers for the Buffs were: Sean Gibson, (two), Michael Angus, (two), Kieran Robson, Lee Scott, Liam Davidson and Josh Robinson. A mention also for Greg Peary who had not kicked a ball for 10 years but signed on as cover for the Buffs and made an appearance for the last 30 minutes.
