In Division One, Bedlington Barrington Arms recorded a solid 4-0 home victory over last year’s champions, Amble Tavern, and moved up to second in the league.

The lead was doubled just before half-time as full-back Curtis Williamson broke down the right flank. His delivery found David Scott lurking at the back post, Scott’s initial effort was well saved by Rikki Hume, but he smashed the rebound into the roof of the net.

The Monkey went three up midway through the second half with Moffitt once again involved as he played in youngster Chris Coe who managed to beat the goalkeeper with a smart finish.

John Paxton got his second, and the final goal of the game as his near-post shot wrong-footed the Amble goalkeeper.
