Footballers Lucy Bronze and Lucy Staniforth represented England Women’s U23s at a training camp in Spain.
The pair, formerly from Alnwick, played key roles for the Young Lions in the Four Nations Tournament in La Manga.
Staniforth scored England’s first goal during a 2-0 win over Sweden last Thursday.
The 20-year-old fired in the opener from 25 yards to help the nation get its campaign off to a winning start.
Bronze, 21, grabbed an assist in England’s late 1-0 win over Norway two days later; her cross was redirected into the net by Norway’s Cecilie Liane.
However, England’s final Four Nations match ended with a 1-0 defeat to the USA on Monday.
Both Lucys started all three matches in the tournament.
They also played in England Women’s U23s’ notable victory over the Russia senior team in January.
Both Lucys play in The FA Women’s Super League (FA WSL).
Staniforth represents Bristol Academy Women’s Football Club, having joined from Lincoln Ladies, while Bronze moved from Everton Ladies to play for Liverpool Ladies. The duo also played for Sunderland Ladies.
