Lucy’s in England squad

Former Alnwick schoolgirls Lucy Bronze and Lucy Staniforth have both been named in the England Women’s squad for the SheBelieves Cup next month.

The Lionesses, who won the trophy last year, will kick off their defence of the competition against hosts the USA in Orlando on Thursday, March 5.

Their other games will be against Japan on Sunday, March 8 and Spain on Wednesday, March 11.

Fullback Bronze, who plays her club football with Lyon in France, and Staniforth, a midfielder with Birmingham City, have both been named in a 23-player squad by manager Phil Neville as he builds towards the 2021 European Championships.
