Lucy Bronze was one of the goal scorers as England Ladies beat Russia 6-0 in their opening World Cup qualifying game at Tranmere’s Prenton Park on Tuesday night.

Bronze, who recently left Manchester City Ladies to join French and European champions Lyon, netted the fourth goal just before half time in what was a dominating performance from the ‘Lionesses.’

The former Alnwick schoolgirl played a key role throughout the match which was screened live on BBC TV.

England’s next qualifier will be against Bosnia & Herzegovina at Walsall on Friday, November 24, before facing Kazakhstan at Colchester on Tuesday 28.
