Berwick Rangers U12...3 Alnwick Town U12...1

Pin Point Recruitment Junior Football League, U12 League Two

ALNWICK suffered their first defeat of the season in very wet conditions at Berwick.

In fairness, Town rarely got into top gear and can have no complaints with the scoreline.

The first 15 minutes saw chances for both sides with Kieron in goal having to race from his line to claim the ball.

At the other end, Alfie, Tombo and Billy were trying to create an opening while Harvey had a great run but couldn’t find the finish.

After a bit of pressure, Berwick scored when a shot from the edge of the box took a deflection and went in to give the hosts a half-time lead.

Alnwick’s defence of Sam, Max, Brandon and Liam were coping well but the ball kept coming back to them and it was soon 2-0.

Kieron, Will and the rest of the boys deserve great credit for not letting their heads go down and soon after gave themselves hope as good work on the right forced Berwick to concede an own-goal.

Coaches Ray and Mark made some changes with Ben, Reece, Cam, Harry and Craig coming on throughout the second half but as the lads tried to get an equaliser Berwick went up the park and scored, making it 3-1 and putting the result beyond doubt.
