Cooper first started playing football at the age of three on a Saturday morning at South Ridge School then went on to play at Walker Central for a year before moving to Whitley Coast Soccer at the age of seven.

After seven seasons at Coast Soccer he made the move to Newcastle city Juniors for a short time, and while there he was picked up by Hartlepool Untied.

He has been with the Victoria Park side since October 2015 and is currently captain of Northumberland FA Boys Under-16s.

Manager Lee Savoy said: “Jack has worked to get this scholarship through sheer hard work and determination.

“He’s never give up on his dream of hopefully making it as a professional footballer one day.”

His mam and dad, Lee and Sharon, said they are proud of what he’s achieved and wish him all the luck for the future, and thanked to his ex-managers, John Coogan at Newcastle City and Kane Wears from North Tyneside Under-15s, for believing in him.
