Goal avalanche secures title



IT was top against bottom in Division Two and at the end of the 90 minutes leaders Red Row had run in 26 goals as Amble ended the season with no wins and over 200 goals conceded.

Matty Graham scored six times, Darren Smith, five, David Whenray and Kevin Bell, four each, with the rest of the goals coming from five other players (full report below).

Bamburgh Castle finished with a win at Shilbottle Reserves with Alex Mackay, Dan and Johnny Johnson plus Sam Aldred all scoring.

Hedgeley lost out to Alnwick Town as Daniel and Judd Donohoe, Brett Rogerson and Ross Straughan all scored, while AFC lost out to North Sunderland who scored twice through Ryan Thompson.

LEE Pattinson was a first-half scorer for Craster but a Brett Rogerson goal saw the sides level at half-time.

Straight after the break, Daniel Donohoe gave Alnwick the lead and, in the latter stages, with Craster pushing forward, Alnwick broke and Judd Donohoe netted a third for Alnwick.

A GOAL apiece from Andrew Robertson gave the home team the advantage at half-time with Keiran Cromarty replying for Tweedmouth. After half-time, Lee Dodd scored a second for the visitors, but a hat-trick from Andrew Robertson and a second from Ryan Thompson saw North Sunderland comfortable winners at the final whistle.
