A top of the league clash in Division One and the start of the game saw Wallsend make the better start.

Amble’s defence were struggling to cope with the pace of Wallsend’s forward line.

Wallsend then created a couple of good chances but failed to punish Amble.

Against the run of play a Riddell long range shot rebounded of the keeper and fell to J Hay who failed to hit the target from six yards.

Amble were struggling to get into the game and went behind to a poor defensive goal from recent standards. Half time 1-0.

After a tongue lashing at half time Amble came to life and started playing some very attractive football.

On 33 minutes Riddell latched onto a good through ball and finished with a great strike into the bottom corner.

Wallsend were struggling to cope with the pace of Amble and when sub Brent Aisbett raced through to beat the offside trap to lob the keeper to make it 2-1.

Amble were controlling the game now and a brilliant through ball by R Gair to B Aisbett who made it 3-1 with a similar goal to the second.

A great second half performance put Amble in the driving seat in the league and maintain their unbeaten league run.
