Sportsworld North Northumberland League round-up
Once again the wet weather created fixture problems, causing several postponements, but leaders Alnmouth United won with the last kick of the match in their game at North Sunderland.
Two first-half penalties from Robert Scott gave the home club a half-time lead before Alnmouth came back to snatch the points.
Goal-scorers for Alnmouth were Sheldon Ayre, Liam Jefferson and Peter Murray.
A Michael Freathy hat-trick, two from Ritchie Hall and a Michael Cunningham goal saw Wansbeck AFC move into second spot after a win over Rothbury, whose single scorer was Chris Coe.
Eglingham FC scored first through a Jordan Beattie free-kick but conceded five times before half-time against Amble St Cuthbert.
In the second half, Alastair Fairley scored a second for the home club but Amble ran in another seven before the final whistle. Goalscorers for St Cuthbert were Liam Ramsay, four, Reece Ramsay, three, and single strikes by Sam Palin, Aaron Thompson, Mick Stewart, John Roberts and Ethan Iredale.
Lynemouth Anglers hooked a 3-5 victory at Alnmouth.
The three other league matches were postponed.
