The windy weather may have stopped both sides from producing any kind of good football on Sunday, but the Bedlington derby between Barrington Arms and The Wharton Arms was still a good contest, as both sides battled to a 2-2 draw.
The Barrington took the lead just before half-time as a long ball from goalkeeper Simon Brown was flicked on by Roy Pattison for Dylan Williamson to square to David Scott who made no mistake from close range.
Midway through the second half, The Wharton levelled the contest with a long-range screamer from Jamie Chapman. Moments later, The Wharton took the lead as a free-kick into the box was fumbled by the goalkeeper and Chapman was on hand to take advantage.
With time running out, Monkey full-back Calum Donohoe equalised from the penalty-spot.
In the other Division One game of the day, Ashington RAOB recorded a 2-0 victory over Riverside Lodge thanks to a brace from Craig Robinson.
East Chevington defeated Ashington Conchie 4-2 and in the process moved above them in the table to third. Adam Shanks got a hat-trick for East Chevington with the other goal coming from Joe Henderson.
The Ashington goals were scored by Ian Kirkup and Michael Freathy.
The Elephant grabbed a good 4-1 win over Amble Dock Hotel, with Michael Carr notching a hat-trick and the scoring was completed by a wonder goal that was curled right into the top corner by Brian Brodie.
