Cobras show some real bite

Alnwick Town Cobras U9...4 Walker U9...1

COBRAS played Walker on Sunday in a game they knew they had to win.

After a run of recent bad results, Cobras started brightly with some good football.

A good run down the left by Marco Mackenley saw him beat two defenders then coolly slide the ball past the keeper to open the scoring.

Walker to their credit started to play some good football and were rewarded with a goal.

Cobras stated to lift their game and it wasn’t long before they got their second with Jay McEwan slotting the ball into the corner of the net.

Both teams had chances but both keepers pulled off some great saves, then Mackenley broke down the left to slide the ball past the keeper, only for the ball to hit both posts and rebound out to Archie Smith to score Cobras’ third.

Then Cobras got their fourth with the dangerous Mackenley bursting clear to slide the ball past the keeper into the net.

Cobras were back to their best with some great football, attitude and team spirit.
