City romp to 12-1 thrashing of visitors

Newcastle Building Society Premier Division

Carlisle City’s Marc Shiel led the way with five goals in a 12-1 annihilation of Killingworth Station. Rob McCartney helped himself to a hat-trick, Sean Bannon got two and Jamie Heath and Ryan Errington added the others. Louis Howe was the Station scorer.

Steven Brown struck twice in Red House Farm’s win at Rutherford with Paul Newton-Eddy, Martin Soulsby and Chris Mann also on the scoresheet. Zak Atkinson and Ryan Crocker netted for the hosts.

Max Kirkham gave Hebburn Reyrolle a first-half lead over Whitley Bay A, but goals from Connor Johnson (two), Tom Potter and Andy Robertson turned the game on its head. John Robson’s strike for Walker Central proved the difference against Ashington Colliers.

Nike Division One

AFC Newbiggin closed the gap at the top as goals from Martin Humble and Kris Allington gave them the three points at leaders Percy Main. James Leggett pulled one back, but the Seasiders held out to win.

Jordan Robertson shot Wallsend Boys Club ahead at Gosforth Bohemians, who levelled after the break thanks to Iain Harris and it also ended all-square at New Fordley, who had Matthew Middleton on the scoresheet with Alex McKitterick levelling for Newcastle Chemfica.

James Monk, Jacob Bunn and Jordan Cross were on target for Newcastle Uni as they edged out basement side Wooler, who replied through James Guthrie and Michael Saunders.

Bay Plastics Division Two

Steven Thompson shot Grainger Park ahead on the hour as the top two met, but it ended honours even as Shilbottle CW’s Josh Hay levelled on 75 minutes. The Colliers also missed a first-half penalty.

Chris Sword hit a hat-trick in Longbenton’s victory at Lindisfarne Custom Planet with Chris Scott getting the other and Grant Richardson replying.

High Howdon also hit four against Swalwell with Nick Mallon, Chris Marshall, Chris Chan and an own goal doing the damage. Andy Brown and Matthew Neve hit back.

Kane Chirnside, Matthew Adams and Glen Johnson lashed home for Willington Quay Saints at West Allotment Celtic A and goals from Gateshead Leam Rangers’ Louis Meach and Liam Barnett were cancelled out by Seaton Burn’s David Hewitt and Jordan Martin.

Ryan Taylor struck twice as Alnwick Town Reserves won an end-to-end encounter at Wideopen, with the Town keeper pulling off a last-gasp penalty save to ensure the three points.

Neil McFall and Kenny Collins got the others with James Johnson, Mitchell Ramsey and Stephen Passey notching for the unlucky hosts.
