Alnwick Town have been drawn at home to Albion Sports in the first qualifying round of The FA Vase.
And club chairman, Tom McKie, admits he is relishing the occasion and delighted the Northumbrians have bagged a home tie.
The cup clash is scheduled for 3pm on Saturday, September 7, and the visit of Bradford-based Albion, of the Northern Counties East Football League, poses a fresh challenge for the black ‘n’ whites.
“It’s massive for the club,” said McKie.
“My ambition was for us to get an FA Vase home tie, and that is what has happened.”
Town’s Northern League Division Two campaign starts on Saturday, August 10, at home to West Allotment Celtic.
Town have friendlies against Wallington (away, Saturday), Seaton Delaval (away, Wednesday), Whitley Bay (home, August 2), and Walker Central (home, August 7).
They lost 4-0 to Team Northumbria in a recent friendly.
