CFS, Blyth’s main and kit sponsor during the 2020/21 campaign, is a subsidiary of CEFO, so the new deal is effectively an extension to the existing partnership.

Tony Platten, chairman of Blyth Spartans spoke of his appreciation towards CEO John Wood following his continued support during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said: “We are extremely grateful to both The CEFO Group and CFS for their continued commitment and support, especially in these difficult and challenging times.

"It was particularly pertinent that CEO, John Wood came forward, without hesitation, to financially support the club as the main club sponsor.

"This bares testimony to John and his management teams’ support and involvement in the club and with the local community.

"We along with all our supporters will give John, Darren, all at CEFO and CFS a warm Spartans welcome when they visit Croft Park.

“In confident anticipation of the upcoming season, we all look forward to seeing CEFO Group front and foremost on our famous Green and White shirt.”

Wood said: “As the owner of CFS, we are absolutely delighted to extend our relationship as main sponsor of Blyth Spartans.

“Our fabrication and engineering division, CFS, headed by Darren Carlisle, has a proud history of supporting the community of Blyth. We have many years’ experience carrying out complex fabrication projects in the Port of Blyth.

“As a business with strong North East community values, we believe that it is important to put something back into the community in which we operate. Football is at the heart of the community, and we are delighted to play out part in supporting football here in Blyth.”

Wood is wishing Spartans boss Michael Nelson and his flurry of summer signings all the very best for the 2021/22 National League North campaign.

Wood added: “People make Blyth Spartans the fantastic club that it is. From the loyal supporter who pays his entrance at the gate every game, through to the many volunteers who give up their time to help run the club, I applaud you!

“It has been a long time coming but we are looking forward to the start of the season and an exciting campaign for Michael and the lads!”
