Billy’s on target for Town victory

Alnwick Town...1 Cramlington Blues...0

ALNWICK faced a strong wind in the first-half of the game on Sunday.

But, aside from Moffat making one fantastic save, he didn’t have a great deal to do.

The lads even forced a couple of corners and Tombo was unlucky that his snapshot didn’t go in.

The defence of Sam, Ant, Brandon and Max were busiest though and were relieved to get to half-time at 0-0.

The second-half started with Alnwick pushing forward. Billy had a great run but his shot went inches over the bar.

Cam also had a shot that just missed the target.

It was one-way traffic as the lads won a free-kick that led to a goalmouth scramble. Harvey was injured trying to force the ball home but after treatment was able to continue.

Reece, Craig and Will were now on so Brandon found room in midfield to pick out Alfie. His pass went to Billy who tucked it away to make it 1-0.

After the lads’ hard work in the first-half it was the least they deserved.

Alnwick saw out the rest of the game, with Moffat again saving well to deny Cramlington and they held out for all three points.
