Lowick Ladies 4
Whitley Bay Ladies 1
In their last friendly before the season starts on August 25, Lowick entertained premiership opposition and acquitted themselves superbly.
Lowick opened the scoring after 10 minutes when Kirstie Tang gained possession in midfield and lobbed the keeper from 20 yards (1-0).
Whitley Bay found it very difficult to deal with the pace of Stewart and she had a couple of chances to score, before rounding the keeper to score a well-deserved goal (2-0).
Stewart caused all sorts of problems and five minutes after scoring she beat her marker again put a low cross into the box and in the confusion a defender put the ball into her own net (3-0).
Lowick were looking very effective in the counter-attack and the best goal of the game came just before half-time when Patteron released Waddell on the left-wing and she drove home a right-footed strike to make the half-time score 4-0 to the home team.
The second half saw the visitors have the benefit of the gusty wind and they managed to put sustained pressure on the Lowick defence.
Whitley Bay scored a consolation goal with five minutes to go.
