Morpeth Sunday League round-up
The only Division One game that took place this week was the Bedlington derby and it was Barrington Arms who triumphed as they edged out The Wharton Arms 3-2.
The Barrington took the lead midway through the first half through a Dylan Williamson strike, before The Wharton grabbed a scrappy equaliser in the second half with a close-range finish from Curtis Taylor.
The lead was regained by Barrington shortly after as a great free-kick into the box from Chris Moffitt was volleyed home by Josh Laverick.
The Wharton looked to have earned themselves a point when Scott Hume scored from the edge of the box with only minutes remaining, but there was still one more twist in this game.
Barrington substitute Shaun Cowell made a great surging run into the Wharton half before slipping in David Scott – his initial shot was parried by goalkeeper Liam Douglas, but the ball fell to Williamson, who made no mistake with a cool finish to seal another derby win.
In Division Two, North End Trap sit top of the table after defeating HMP Northumberland 3-2.
On target for The Trap were Marc Mavin (two) and Josh Baston, while the HMP goals were scored by Ryan McCue and Dale Huggins.
