Amble outclassed

WBBC...6 FC Amble...1

FC Amble travelled down the coast to face a very good Whitley Bay team who bossed the match from start to finish.

From the first whistle, Amble were under pressure from a team that out-worked and out-passed them.

Whitley Bay were denied an early goal only by a very good display from Amble keeper T Hall, who made at least four good saves before having his goal breached in the 15th minute after some lacklustre defending from Amble allowed the home striker to put his team 1-0 up.

The lead was soon doubled after T Hall had made a good stop only to see the Whitley Bay striker react to the rebound first and slot the ball home (2-0).

Amble pulled the score back to 2-1 after 23 minutes with their only decent bit of passing of the day.

J Ford , D Handyside and D Ramshaw all exchanged passes to cut open the defence and Handyside finished in style to go in to half-time 2-1 down.

The second half started in the same vein and Amble conceded their third penalty in consecutive games which was despatched to give Whitley Bay a 3-1 lead.

Whitley Bay continued to press and added another three goals to their tally to be worthy 6-1 winners.

The youngsters from Amble need to put this down to a bad day at the office and get fired up for games on Saturday and Sunday, when they can hopefully pick themselves up and get back to winning ways.

Spurreli’s man-of-the-match: Billy Handyside.
