Hebburn Town 3 Alnwick Town 0
EBAC NORTHERN LEAGUE, DIVISION TWO
Alnwick Town’s miserable run without a victory stretched to seven games in all competitions after this afternoon’s league reverse at Hebburn Town.
They were beaten 3-0 to leave them 17th in the league, six places off the bottom.
Hebburn opened the scoring with a scruffy goal from Shaun Reay (1-0) after a quarter-of-an-hour. Eight minutes later, it was 2-0 from a back-post header.
Between the first two goals, Alnwick almost drew level but Brown’s effort went wide.
An injury forced off Jon Colley, to be replaced by Mbiavanga, before the half-time whistle brought a lacklustre 45 minutes with few chances to an end.
Hebburn made it 3-0 to wrap up the points after the break.
Adam Shanks had Alnwick’s best chance of the game, but merely provided catching practice for the keeper.
